What would the elderly and disabled do if the country was always run by Conservatives?

Shut up and quit lying.

They would not have paid 12% of their entire life’s income into a Social Security system that pays them back about 2% of that!

Keep living on their medicare and social security until they die.

Die.

They’d be doing very well, becuase if all the money was pumped into the private sector that’s currently being wasted on social programs which consume over half our federal budget, there would be so much wealth, that it couldn’t help but spill over into the life of seniors and disabled people, and people’s families, neighbors, churches and charitable organizations would have enough to take care of such people. God bless.

They would let the elderly starve in the street and die horrible deaths because it would save them a couple hundred dollars a year in taxes.

Be better off

Whatever they wanted to do instead of what Barry and his minions would be telling them to do. WHICH would you choose?

As they did in the pre-New Deal era, they would die.

All the Democrats would invite them into their own homes to take care of them. At least that is what they should do in theory.

Conservatives generally are for limited government. Not total anarchy.

What happened to elderly people before we had these programs? Their families cared for them. Duh.

this borders sad. it is the dems taking 500 billion from medicare last i heard. reps would have a bigger portion coming out of their check at a younger age to set aside for when they retired. reps would have required catestrophic coverage when they were young to make sure they had some insurance. the reps would not have let them live off the system and not contributed to it, somehow. this is the result of the last sixty years of social programs draining the system. what fool does not have insurance anyway, work two jobs but get it. know what could happen, what is 6-10 dollars a day?

they would be in greater control of their own destinies and have more of what they need for a quality of life.

The good thing is, the country will never always be run by conservatives. When groups who put profit over people are in power, the result is always bloodshed.

There won’t be any old people – they will all have died young fighting useless wars.

They could have saved all the money they paid into those programs and they would not have to depend on the government.

If the entire county were run by true conservatives, then the elderly would be able to live out their lives in peace and comfort knowing that their children and grandchildren were stepping up and providing for their welfare and well being instead of dumping them into a nursing home in hopes that somebody else’s tax dollars would cover the costs.

Why do people make comments that they obviously know nothing about? George Bush signed the biggest expansion of government entitlements in to law since the great Society. Let me ask you this question. What would minorities do with out conservatives Like Abraham Lincoln or all the Republican congressman who supported JFK and LBJ when they were trying to pass civil and voting rights legislation? The so called liberals opposed them at every turn. In general conservatives do no want to keep people tethered to the government trough. Conservatives believe in the individual and that given the right tools everyone can be succesful. With that being said obviously people do sometimes need help. But, conservatives belief is that it should be temporary while your gaining the tools and experience needed to be successful. l’m sure that’s what everybody wants we just have a different opinions on how to get there.

They would be forced to do what all americans before roosevelt were forced to do: Live Modestly and save up money to pay for thier retirement….
